Our New Crafty Secrets Challenge is up today

Today we have a fun challenge on our blog for you with a Summer Theme to it.
Getting the chance to take a quick vacation or travel to one of my bucket list
destinations is always top priority with me.  And having my book ready to fill
with lots of photos, tags and all the goodies i pick up on the way is the best.  Today
i have a pocket book that i started with a cute cover of these two adorable
images on the beach. There are lots more on the 4 pages that come with it so i
will use lots of those for the inside pages to share later.

For the images i used the C/S Travel page and cut them out and distressed them
with a little gingerbread ink from Tsukineko.  The papers i printed off of the
Creating with Vintage Patterns CD  in blue and orange and that pretty brown
printed paper.  And i added a pocket and tags, flowers and some twine for fun.
It was lots of bits of things that i had in my stash but since i get to print my
own papers it was fun to see it all come together so well.  The inside pages
i will share with you next week... i just have a few more things i want to add to them...

Thanks so much for stopping over and be sure and check out the Crafty Secrets
website for more fun digital images to print for all your projects too.  And don't
forget to join the challenge with us... we would love to see what you make too.

Have a great day... Teresa

RRR Patriotic Challenge for today..

This month on RRR we have lots of fun projects up using our gorgeous new
ribbons with a patriotic theme and it's been really fun creating so far.  Today
i used those colors but did my project with a slight twist and created my new
summer journal using lots of bits of ribbon and lace and some Ruby Rock-it papers.

So for this project i found this neat journal covered in burlap and I used a
few pieces of Ruby Rock-it papers to start the top.  Then i tied on a huge piece of
cream mesh ribbon.  And then i glued on this neat wooden sentiment over it.
The letters and numbers i found in my stash of letters so that part was easy.

and for the side... i love lots of ribbons and charms so i picked some
of my favorites and tied them on with these neat little pins and attached
it to the top side of the book.  Now i have lots of markers to mark special
things on the inside that i really loved to do this summer.

That's it for today but be sure and check back again as always and don't
forget to make something fun to link up with us on the Challenge blog.

Hope you have a really fun and crafty day!!

Hello it's me clipboard

Today i have a fun post to share of a project i did with a really
fun Spellbinders die that you can use for mini books and a neat
paper line from Teresa Collins.  I have so much in my stash that
i needed to use so i thought how fun to make up this clipboard mini album
for me or just to give as a gift for someone special.

The Spellbinders die that i used is called Creative Book Pages and all
the pieces that you see are cut with it.  To make it i layered the pieces
that i cut out of each of the dies to open up and inside there is plenty
of room for photos and journaling.  Then i just clipped it under and
that is it.  How fun is that to make....

I really love the colors and as always she has great tags and goodies to
have fun with and create amazing pages.  I also added ribbons from

Here is another view of the inside pages.

The paper line is called This is Me just in case you need
to make up something with it too.  Thanks for stopping over
to see what's new and hope your week is wonderful!!

My 2014 Daily Book

Hi Everyone and I hope that you are having a wonderful
weekend.  I have a fun thing to share and I know that it's early
but the way my life is these days I think that it is probably best
I get this ready to use.  I love journaling all the time and it's fun
to keep a note of funny and wonderful things that happen in
our daily lives.  It's the stuff that movies are made of right?

I did this book using a journal from Fancy Pants and they
are amazing.  There is lot of pages for photos and journaling
and you can add lots of scrapbooking goodies to the inside
as well as the outside.  The papers and other fun goodies
I used for this project are from Prima.  One of the papers
at the top and bottom with the filmstrip is from Bo Bunny
and the Moma Razi line.  Love those papers, they are so cute.

I wanted to use lots of flowers for the front
so I did a huge cluster and added some wooden
flowers with rhinestones and butterflies.

The letters I used are from LYB and Thickers.
The memories word is in the paper and I cut it
so that it would be on the front like this.  I also
used some of the rhinestone arrows they came out
with just cause I love glitter things... Must be
that I was born in Hollywood....

I hope you like it and will make up a beautiful one
for yourself before the year starts... Have a great
week and thanks for stopping over :)

Hugs and Smiles...

Pinterest Recipe Book

I try not to be addicted.. but I love Pinterest and all the fun
things people share and lately I have been really hooked
on recipes and trying them out ....soooo...
I got out another one of my composition books from
my stash and made a place where I can put all the fun recipes
that I find from Pinterest and my favorite Food Network shows.

It's a little bit Smash book looking but I love
doing these because you can use up alot of stuff
that you have around and it's fun doing them.  The papers are
from Crate Paper and I used the chipboard and stickers
on the front and inside on a few of the pages too.

Inside of my book I made some divider pages so
that I can put the Pinterest recipes in one and then
maybe the TV ones in another.  So far I have
had great luck with alot of them and my family
has said alot of them are keepers. Yay!! That is good
because it's fun to be together and enjoy new things
and make healthy foods for everyone.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and hope you like
my fun little journal of sorts and can find some things
laying around today and make one for you!

Lots of hugs today....Teresa

Journal Monday #4

I hope you are all having a great holiday weekend so far!
It is nice to have these days to catch up with life and maybe
create a few things here and there right?  Well today
is Journal Monday and lots of things happened this week
some good and some bad but it got me to thinking how
important each day is in our lives and how we
should step out of our comfort zones and do things...
lots of things that we wouldn't normally do--- just to say
you tried it once... My book this week is a pocket journal
that I made from a Basically Bare Kraft book from Tattered Angels.
The title is "Just Go" and it was inspired by all those people
in my life that just go... they take life running and enjoy
each and every moment... I hear so many people say
"We are going to do that when we retire" and for me I want
to start now.... and "Just Go".....

So here is the front of my book filled with lots
of fun bits of this and that...

I used some Echo Park and alot of MME papers for it
and as promised there is lots of things that I used
from my stash to use some of it up...
stickers, tags, buttons, ribbons and keys.

I love the book because it has 4 pockets with a card
in each for photos and whatever else you pick up on
your journeys.  And in my case since i am a huge
collector of things I am adding some envelopes that
I am decorating and extra cards to write in and to
put photos in when I get them printed up..

This was such a fun book to do and is going to be
perfect for my next trip to Sacramento and Sequoia.
The pages measure about the same so it was really
quick and if you use a pack of the same collection then
all of it is fun to mix and match on each of the
 pages when you are working.

This book was also inspired because I lost one
of my very favorite Aunts this last week.  I will
love her always and will miss her alot but I take
great comfort in knowing she is with my Uncle now
and I will always remember to enjoy each and every
moment in life.... because you just never know....

Have a wonderful Monday...
Hugs and Smiles :)

Journal Monday #3

It's another Monday already and I am a little late in
posting but I am doing lots of things for Spellbinders and
the store I have to finish and my I photo was being a little
crazy to load pictures today but I have a few to share and a
fun idea for pockets on my School Journal today.
I wish that I had made these for my kids each year
so that I could have them write about their friends and all
the things that happened in school from their point of views.
I met a teacher too that said that writing in journals for
kids helps them in so many ways so I guess that by itself
is a good enough reason to help your kids create them!

So today I didn't put so much on the front and created
lots and lots of pockets on the front page and inside to put extra
goodies from the school year.  I didn't want it too busy so i used
the stickers and borders that came in the set from
Creative Imaginations that I used from Samantha Walker.
I do think I have found a good use for all the twine that
i bought though.  It's skinny and works really good for
tying things on and pages in the books too..

This is the opening page and just like the front
has a pocket for goodies so do all the other pages.
I wish I had more paper to do more but I will have
to go out and get a few more sheets to add on later.

I used lots of the sticky borders to create the pockets
and lots of tags to decorate with.

This was a really fun and easy journal to do and I
can't wait to find someone to give it to or maybe i will
just do it for a combined journal for both of
my kids so I can keep it as a quick memory for me!

Hope you got inspired and stop back next Monday
for a fun Gratitude Journal for Fall.
Thanks for stopping over today!

Journal Monday 2

Today is my second in 6 posts of Mondays to share
some fun journals that I am creating.  This week I made
a fun tropical journal to take with me on my trip to Hawaii in
the future.  I am trying to use all the scraps and bits
of things I have bought so that I can put them to good
use and not just storage again.  And making these
journals does exactly that. And.... it's really fun!

This beach themed journal is using papers
from LYB 2012 Summer Collection and lots of
flowers and chipboard pieces.  I basically start
by cutting pieces to cover the journal and glue
that all down well and then I take the chipboard and
flowers that I made from the set and start laying them
out like a puzzle on top of it.  When I get them where
I want them I start gluing them down with glue dots
and foam dots to make it pop up and look really fun
and 3 dimensional. It's alot like making a collage.
Just grab lots of things and see what goes together
that you really love and then the magic happens!

I had some rhinestones that matched with this
so I added them on the flowers and around the page.
On the edge of my book I tied lots of twine and a bit
of fuzzy yarn and added some cute little flowers.
And don't forget to add the year and/or the date so
that you can remember when all the fun happened!

Here is the glues that I like to use.  I thought this would
be good to share because some things stick and some don't
and I have tried them all with all the years I have been doing this.
I love Scor Tape, Scotch Quick Dry, Glue dots and
Foam dots the best.  Another great product I just found is Xyron
Mega Runner the permanent one.  It's awesome and it's refillable.

So that's it for today, I hope you liked it and
be sure and check back next Monday for a fun
School journal filled with fun pockets and such!

Have a very wonderful day,

Journal Mondays

Wow its Monday already and I thought that I would
post something new that I did yesterday with some
fun papers I got from Kaisercraft Check in Collection.
Since my kids are older and I finally get to travel more I
thought I would create a bunch of different journals so that
I had a place to record my memories and put bits of tickets
and things I collect along the way.  You see I am so guilty
of not scrapping them right away so having these journals
helps me to get all the info right when I am behind. And
it's a great thing for kids and then you get their version of
the story when they do things and go places too!!

So here is my first one for this Monday....

For all my journals I used an inexpensive Composition
book and I will be doing lots of fun things to change
up the insides of them each Monday.  But today --I
am sharing this one I did by cutting the different pieces
of the Travel papers and using a little bit of MME On
the Bright Side to mix in with it. Quick Tip: Cutting the
papers on their edges will give it more interest instead of
just flat rectangles and to age it a little-- i used a
Making Memories distress tool around all of them.

With all the amazing dies from Spellbinders released
I always seem to find something fun to add to my projects
and made a cute little camera and a photo edge for the side.
Since Spellbinders dies emboss you can sand the
edges and the designs pop out like on the camera!
It's a really cool thing and is great for vintage projects.

My favorite adhesive for these books is Scor Tape,
Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive, Scrapbook Adhesives
EZ Runner and some sticky glue dots for the flowers.
These work really good and will hold up nicely with wear
and tear on your books through time.  And if you want to
seal it you can use Beacon's Fast Finish Decoupage.  It's
thinner and doesn't bubble so bad. You gotta love that!

So that's it for today and hope you go out and grab
a stack of these composition books and join me on
Mondays to make some fun Journals for yourself and
maybe a friend or two :)
I will have dimensions available on the next ones but
this was one of those creative things that I decided to
do at the last minute so I apologize!  Have a fantastic
day and lots of smiles and hugs to you!

Teresa
