Antiquities Square Card Inspiration

Hi and happy Wednesday to all of you that are stopping by to see a little bit more inspiration for the new Vintage Treasures dies by Becca Feeken.  Today i wanted to post one of my favorite cards that i did for the samples using the Antiquities Square die set.  I used basic ivory, tan and a subtle gold metallic paper to cut out my dies  and added that pretty handmade flower from the collection in ivory to the center of my ribbons.  Since there is so much detail already I only added a few rhinestones on the sides of the top die.  One thing i really love is that big huge back card base piece.  It is such a plus for making other cards because there is so many other things you can layer over it.

This die set has 5 pieces in it and that makes it fun because you can cut it out by itself or even cut a mat to go under your piece to give it more color or to strengthen it.  Sometimes my papers are a little thin but adding another piece under it makes it look and feel so much better.

And you can run ribbons through this one or use the pieces that fall out to color and add back in.  Or you can make a purse or a frame base for a vintage family photo. So many fun ideas.

That is all for today and thank you for taking the time to stop over.  This coming month we have
our very first guest designer and she will be sharing her amazing style with us starting this Sat on the 1st so be sure and check Becca's blog for the big reveal.

Have a good day.... Teresa

A Vintage Happy Birthday card to share today

Happy Saturday and thank you so much for stopping by for a little "Vintage Treasures" Inspiration.
Today i have a card to share with 2 new dies mixed in with an old one.  This was fun and it went together so easy.  The dies are called "Marquis Diamond Pendant" mixed with the "Floral Tiara Topper"  And just for good measure i used my favorite Hemstitch Oval die for the sentiment.

This is a really simple card to do in that you can just layer a few of the new dies in the same ivory color over a pretty floral background and then add another layer on the top for the sentiment.  And of course some pearls to make it a little more vintage looking.

These papers i just found from Kaisercraft and i love using 6x6 pads because the prints are tiny but you can use anything in your stash for it and i know it will come out beautiful.

Thank you for stopping by and have a really fun and restful Holiday Weekend!

Hugs and Smiles..... Teresa

Vintage Gift Card Holder

Today i am sharing a sweet vintage gift card holder that i made with one of the new "Vintage Treasure" dies designed by Becca Feeken for Spellbinders.  This is one of my favorite dies of the new collection because there is so much detail in it and it's going to be so fun to mix these parts with other dies that i have.
To make my card I found some really pretty flowered paper at my local Micheals craft store in shades of pink and just a touch of lavender so i added some solid pink cardstock to the mix and i cut the layers for the front of the circle to slightly soften the flowered base a little.  I used some really tiny 3D foam dots to pop it up just a little to make the center die cut really stand out.

I love the dotted outside of the largest circle and how it frames everything.

This is so that you can see the inside pocket to put the gift card in.  I added the sentiment inside since i didn't really have room for it on the front.  All those pretty flowers, leaves and pearls just had to be there to give it that vintage feeling that i was looking for.

And lastly just another close up of the detail of the die.  It's really pretty and the embossing is what i love most.... it's more than just a cut.  It's a beautiful embossed design i can use for my cards.  And for a different look on the pearls i used an opalescent cut style that i found on Want2Scrap.com.
They have so many colors and styles of bling it's hard to decide what to get!!

Have fun today and enjoy your weekend,
Teresa

But it's "NOT" Christmas Blog Hop

Don't you just love a die that does double duty?  We thought so!  Today we're are having a blog hop to show you how the dies in The Charming Christmas Collection can be used year round; after all, it's not Christmas.  No worries, Christmas is coming and we'll press A Charming Christmas back into service this year but in the meantime, please join us for some year-round inspiration and a giveaway at the bottom of the post.

It's Not Christmas but About A Charming Christmas

Becca designed A Charming Christmas with lovely romantic frames and shapes and with charms.  Leave the charms in the package and you have a lovely 'everyday' die that is begging to be used all year round.  Hop around with us as we reintroduce you to the non-Christmas side of A Charming Christmas.

****The die I'm showing today is the Sentimental Christmas and Die Set.

I decided to go a completely different way with my card and use a paper from Kaisercraft with gorgeous aqua and purple shades and combine it with aqua foil and silver.   For my Christmas die i cut it out of the purple cardstock and cut a shadow in aqua to match the matting in the layers under the foiled plate.  Then i cut out that gorgeous scrolled pieced and carefully glued that in place.  The thank you sentiment is from Elegant Occasion Sentiments and i used silver foil on it to match the matting and placed it in the center of the piece.  Then i added lots of flowers that you would see in a fairy garden and attached those at the bottom under the sentiment.

I hope that all of you have had a chance to try using some of the glimmer foils.  It really beautiful and is a fun and easy way to create cards.  I love that you can mix so many of these with your existing dies and since there are so many color choices in the foils it makes it that much for fun to play with.

Amazing Paper Grace May Die of the Month Blog Hop

Today for our Blog Hop we are all sharing our ideas with you using the brand new APG May Die of the Month from Becca Feeken.  This as you can see is a beautiful framed styled die that you can use for so many beautiful projects.  It kind of has a Art Deco feel for me so i used some muted silver paper for my frame and then layered silver printed vellum, white and more silver on the front for a kind of glamorous look.  The gorgeous satin bow and rhinestone button give it even more pizzaz.

And for the sentiment i chose something that is beautiful enough to save and keep up on a desk for a daily reminder to read each day.... I will have to find a pretty easel to send with it when i do.

Here is where you can get this gorgeous Die of the Month from Spellbinders...

Each month is a different new die with lots of inspiration for you.

My second Project to share for today is a fun Summer Journal that i made with the die.

Every summer i try and explore a new place and have a new adventure so i needed to make a new journal to record all the fun and memories in.  And this new die was perfect to add with my Simple Stories travel papers that i just ordered.  I had so much fun making this one and that beautiful double frame really adds alot to the front and all the little bits the paper collection had in it.

Here is a closeup so that you can see the frame and all the pretty details in it.... it would be so perfect for an invitation or maybe get ahead with Christmas and cut them for your family picture cards to send to everyone.

A Special Birthday Wish

I can't believe it's already Wednesday... seems like time goes by so quick these days.

I had some fun yesterday working in my craftroom making up samples with the new Vintage Treasure dies and i loved how this one came out so i had to share it first.  I ordered some new papers from Kaisercraft and this one had a bit of a silver sheen running through it so i thought it would be fun to make a fancy birthday card to send out.  I wanted the gorgeous design in the top die to stand out so i cut that one in the muted silver paper and then added layers underneath to make it all work together.  Of course ribbons and rhinestones are always a good idea too.

This is one of my favorite dies in the collection because of the beautiful design in the top die.  It's just so pretty and after adding the second circle under it in white i got out one of my older dies called Curled Grace Oval and cut that out in silver to go under the top medallion to add just a touch more silver.  And i think it finishes it off rather well.
Here is the die set so that you can see all the fun pieces that it has in it to use.  The sample i did for the packaging was supposed to look more like a piece of vintage jewelry but as you can see with just a change of paper you can create a whole new look for a different style of card.  It's what i really love about these dies, there is so much that you can do with them.

And here you can see all the details.  Doesn't that rhinestone button look perfect on it? I really love the muted silver paper i used for the dies on the card.  I think the mirror card would be too overpowering and this subtle silver just gives it that special kind of femininity and vintage feel to it.

Thank you so much for stopping by... and don't forget to stop back Sunday for our Blog hop!!

Hugs and Smiles... Teresa

Two Small words of Thank you

I hope that all of you stopping by today had a really good week... here in California the weather is great and all the flowers are blooming everywhere, especially my roses.  All the water really made them gorgeous this year so making cards with lots of flowers and vintage dies is truly my inspiration.

Today i have a card that i made with the new "Antiquities Square from Becca Feeken"  This is one of my favorite dies from the new collection just released and as you can see by the one i did below with the gold that this die set can be very versatile.  Gold is always amazing but add an embossed base that you can do yourself and a bit of pink and it changes the whole thing.  I just love pink and white :)

What i love about this die set is that you can add so many other dies in your stash over this huge square base.  You can do hemstitch ovals or any of the other fancier circles to add a sentiment to it.  And how fun to make tags from just that center piece that you get.  It's so gorgeous!!

Here is a closeup so that you can see the details from the embossed part of the die.  I cut up some of the pieces from the center and added them under my sentiment piece and of course pearls scattered around.  The sentiment is from a new Penny Black sentiment set i just got.  It's the perfect size and the perfect words for this card.

And as to making it I just did simple layers on the base to balance out the pink square die over the top of all of it and then added the white for the sentiment to balance out the embossed white in the back.  And the bow is a simple double bow with a cute pink pearl brad in the center.  I really love this one.

Thank you for stopping over and hope to see you back again soon.  We are having a blog hop for our new Die of the Month inspiration next Sunday... be sure and stop over to see all the amazing projects.

Hugs and Smiles....Teresa
