Cardabilites #98 is up today....

Today we all have another fun sketch to share today with all
or you on Cardabilites and boy is it ever cute... I had lots of fun
with this one and did a couple of cards with it to share with you.

For my Gracias card i kept pretty true to the sketch and
used a new vintage paper pad from Authentique
called Classic Elegant.  I also used a die set from
Spellbinders called Romantic Rectangles 2 to make
the outside edge of the card.  The little medallion
was from 2 dies sets.  They are Floral Doily Motifs
and also the circle from Stately Circles.  I love how
this came out and love the Victorian look to it.  I know
it's a surprise LOL... i just love lace and flowers....

The little tiny flowers are from one of my
new favorite places to order Really Reasonable Ribbon.

My second card to share today is using another
new pad that i got from Doodlebug Designs called
Sugar Shoppe.  i used lots of cute little patterns
and a Die D-Lite from Spellbinders called Medallion 8.
I added a few more flags and some pink twine that i
had in my stash and a flower and a sticker to finish
up the center of the medallion.  I love these colors
alot and i love my lace and flowers too....

Hope you like what i have and don't forget to come
and join us over on Cardabilites or just get inspired
by all the beautiful things everyone shares :)

and many more....

I love birthdays and they are very special in my family.
It is very important that you are on this earth and
we think it's the best way to celebrate that!

So today i am sharing a quick card to give someone you love.

I love the browns and pinks and green on this.  It's
not something I would normally put together but I
really like the colors.  The papers are by Authentique.
The dies are of course by Spellbinders and the stamp
is from Hero Arts and I stamped it with dark brown ink
and embossed it with clear.  I finished it with some pretty
pink rhinestones from Want2Scrap and wha laa!
That is our new favorite saying in card club when
you do something you love and it comes out good :)

So have a great day and thanks for stopping...

Xmas Cards?

I wanted to just make a few cards today and play
which I haven't done for awhile and as I picked up papers
close to me I ended up today with 2 christmas cards! LOL!
I guess if you go where inspiration leads you-- you never
know what you may end up with!
So today my first card is with one of the prettiest dies
out from Spellbinders called Venetian Motifs S5-119.

I love the intricate design of this die and with all the tiny
pieces you can really have fun and create something gorgeous.
For me this seemed perfect to create an ornament adding a
little bit of our silver foil and a few tiny pearls and ribbon.  I used the
new Card Creator Rectangles to make an embossed backround
for my card and layered the die and added a pretty white bow
onto the top of the ornament.  I don't think my picture really does
this justice but I think this might be in the running for my cards this year.
The stamp I used is from Penny Black (Christmas Cheer)
and it's wonderful set because it has so many sentiments to chose from.

My next card was quick and simple and is from
a Christmas Kaisercraft  mini pad of paper.  The patterns are
super cute and it even has tags and borders in the back!  Sometimes
that can be a gift if you are wanting to make something quick!

One of my favorite dies is Spellbinders Lacey Oval and it
was perfect to frame this sentiment in. The rest I just
layered the borders and added a couple of ribbons
tied in a bow and added a couple of stick pins to make it glisten.

Thanks so much for stopping over today and I
have lots more to share so be sure and stop back soon.

Hugs and Smiles!

Relaxing week

I have a few new things to show today since I have
been home sitting with my dog after his knee operation.
Last Thursday my golden went in to fix a tendon that
he tore completely and I haven't had much sleep since then but
since I have to stay with him day and night so that he doesn't
chew threw all the staples and run anywhere then I have
gotten a few things done.  I got my box of Webster's in
the mail and decided to make this chunky flap book to
put lots of photos and memorabilia of the things
that we do for the Christmas Holidays this year.  We
decided to do lots more family events instead of spending
so much time in the malls and it is really going to be
a special year because of it.  Much more relaxing I think...
and thank goodness for online ordering too :)

So if you don't know what flap books are then you
are missing out.  These 2 products are from Pine Cone
Press in So.Cal.  They made these chunky chipboard books in
2 sizes this year and you can really do alot of pages
inside of them.  I made 6 sets of the flap pages for
this and the fun part is you can always add more flaps
if you end up with more photos that you need to scrap!!

Each of the sections opens up to have more
places for photos.  You can also add flaps up
or down or envelopes that open up with other fun
things inside of them.  It is really fun and makes
for an incredibly fun book to look at.  You can't just
flip through fast on this one and the more you add
the more fun it is... I am going to add lots of paper
clips and pockets too as I get things in the days ahead
so I will show it again when the season is over..

The measurements for this are 6x17.  You can create
your own by cutting a 12x12 in half and scoring it
at 6" and then adding a flap under the right edge by
cutting a piece of 6x6 and scoring it at 1" and then
gluing it under the first flap on the right edge.  It's
really easy.  The center of the book is a folded
accordion piece of paper and each of the flaps is
glued in with Scor Tape.  It works fantastic to keep
hard to hold things in place just in case you haven't
tried it. I love the it and its easy to apply too!

So with that said I am catching up on scrapping some of
my trips this year.  I was going to use this paper to
do a page of all the blue eyed people in my family,
but it worked even better for my snow trip to Zion.

Being from California we don't get snow much so
being in Zion which is one of my favorite places
in the world on a first snowfall day was just amazing!
I took so many photos and think I will have to do a
book just for Zion photos now in different seasons.

The papers on this page are from Authentique and I
love the blues.  I would love to decorate my whole house
in this if it were fabric because it is just so pretty.

Thanks for stopping by and seeing what's new
and I hope you are all as excited as I am to celebrate
this year with friends and family...

New Projects with Authentique papers...

We got 5 of the New Collections from Authentique
this week so I got to help create lots of projects for the store
to show off the new release of it for us... and was
it ever amazing paper to work with.  The quality
of the paper is outstanding and the colors and prints
are perfect for almost anything you might think of to
scrap or create something with...

My first project is a canvas I did with the Uncommom line.
I love all the pinks and rose colors of this line and
it has big and small letters to work with. (love this :)

The aquas, creams and browns of this line were really
fun to create with.  I made the lace doily on this by
cutting a circle with a plate and then by flipping a martha
stewart corner punch upside down you can punch all
around the edge and you have an instant doily!  Thanks
Debbie for the idea and hope all of you will try it soon!

The flowers I made with a EK punch and layered some
roses on top of them.  I added punched leaves in with it too.

This photo doesn't do this justice because the colors
are really beautiful together.  The huge orange poppies
on this really caught my eye and they were great to scrap
these fall photos of my niece at college.

Last for today is this quick card I made from scraps from
the page above.  It only took a few minutes but it is
really bright and happy and cute :)

Got to get back to creating again so have
a great day and take care,

Teresa
