Cardabilites post #102 is up today...

Wow this month has really flown by and it's time again for
another new sketch at Cardabilites!  This month we have a really
cute one again and i had lots of fun layering papers and die cuts
with one of the images that i colored on my vacation in Indiana.

It was fun to really put lots of little details on it and I really love
the cute little image from LOTV in England.  For the image I
used chalk and colored pencils and I love the way the images
looks soft and blended.  The flowers are from my stash and
from Prima and the dies are from Spellbinders.

Here is the image this time so you all can join us and create
something beautiful for us to see!!

It's a great sketch and has lots of ways you can be inspired :)

Hope you all have a great week and can't wait to see
what you all share with us.....

New Butterbees projects to share

I was busy this month having lots of fun with some of the
brand new things i got in my happy mail package from Monique
at Butterbee Scraps.  I used some of the new butterflies and
some of the new bead caps to do a couple different projects
that i think you will like .....

First up is a quick card that i did using the Bronze corners
and one of the new bronze Filigree Butterflies.  For my card i wanted
alot of rich textures so i layered brown corrugated cardboard
with some pretty papers from a Farmhouse paper pad.  For the
Butterfly i inked it with Staz On ink and i also added just a touch
of gold ink to the corners.  To frame my butterfly i cut and embossed
a Labels 32  frame from Spellbinders in aqua and popped that up.
I really like the way the metal pieces are so rich looking and it
went together really fast so that was great too.

This was a fun project that even your kids can do.  I started to
paint at a really early age and having lots of time in the summer
this would be perfect for your kids to do to keep busy too.  There is
a paint from Americana that you can use to paint metal so for
this hairpin i just used a small paintbrush and filled in the tiny
places all around the butterfly and let it dry.  Then i put on a thin
clear coat of glossy accents and a touch of glitter and let that dry
too.  The clips are #J362-B and they are super easy to put on things
with a good glue like E6000 or something similar.  There are lots of
great deals in the shop to get to paint so be sure and go check them out.

And next is another project that my daughter and i used to do
alot.  We always had twine and other assorted cords in a box and
when we had time we always made these fun macrame
bracelets for summer.  Some had beads, some just knots and for
this one i decided to add in a little metal :)

For mine i added the Bead Caps 040-B that look like mini flowers and
knotted them all between my macrame design.  This was really fun and
it didn't take long at all.  All you need is brown cording, the flower bead
caps, scissors and some tape to anchor it while you work.

I hope you like my projects today and be sure and post if you do one so
i can some check our your blog to visit and see what you did!

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Cardabilites Post #101 is up today...

Today we have a brand new post up on the Cardabilites blog....
It's really super cute and i had so much fun with this one.

I used lots of Spellbinders for my card.  Some are older and some
are new but it was really fun to mix them and layer them with the
pretty colors of paper that i found.  I also used an embossing folder
that i had from Spellbinders to do the pink back round which i really
think sets off the cluster of flowers on top of it.

The flowers are from Prima and Petaloo.  I mixed a few things that i had
in my stash... Just love it.  And now to think of someone to send it to :)

Have a wonderful day and be sure and enter a card
onto our gallery for a chance to win this time.  We love
to see what all of you create for the sketch too.

It's our June Really Reasonable Ribbon Hop today...

Welcome everyone to our Really Reasonable Ribbon Hop
for June :)  I am really excited to share the beautiful set of Ribbons this
month for the hop with all of you. It's filled with yummy summer colors
and lots of really cute printed ribbons to use too!!  You get 9 gorgeous
ribbons in the set and i used alot but still have so much
to use for other projects!!

So if you have been following the hop you should be coming
from Bonnie's blog.... which was absolutely gorgeous i must say...

So for my project today i want to share a chalk board
easel that i picked up from my local hobby store and
made into a cute picture holder for my nephew and his
brand new bride!  It was fun adding the beautiful roses
to match the ribbons and lots of other fun details.

To make my project you will need papers from the Carte Bella
Paris girl paper pad and then cut them in strips to go across the
bottom and the top of the chalkboard.  I even layered a row of
lace to make it pretty like her dress was for that day.

On the top I put a cluster of the large pink WOC
Wild Roses mixed with the light pink Cottage Roses with ribbons
from the June assortment available this month.
white and the Diamond Satin  in charcoal.

I also used some bling from Want2 Scrap and stamps from
the Simple Stories DIY set.  It was perfect to stamp and make
my title with Remember Today which i am sure they will for
the rest of their lives.  I can't wait to make up a few more things
for them and send it off.  Thanks so much for hopping with
us and your next hop will be to Cherry's blog...

Have fun and i hope you get inspired with lots of
ideas to use the new ribbons with :)

Just a quick Sunday post

It has been a busy week to say the least.  Lots of good things and
a few major things that have thrown us for a loop in our family.
But we are hoping that good things will happen for all of us
in the future and our problems will right themselves soon enough.

Anyway i have some cards in my stash of things that i have done
and thought i would share this butterfly card that i did with one
of the new dies released this past CHA.  It's called Romantic Rectangles 2
and i used most all the dies to create a quick layered card.

I really wanted the butterfly to show up so i did it
in black and then added a layer of black under the back die.
I love the peach and cream with it too.

Sorry this is so short... i have lots of things to make this week
and before i forget be sure and check out the Spellbinders blog
for our June Jamboree this week for a new release of dies!!
They are really gorgeous and we have lots of fun ideas
to share with all of you.

Have a wonderful day :)

Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge

Today we have a new challenge up on the
theme.  You can create anything you want to share with us that
you made and wow you should see what neat projects
our team is sharing.  It was really fun!

For my project I upcycled an old leather wallet box
that i had saved and made a desk photo flip book
for my husband to put some of our National Park
travel photos in.  That way he can look at them and
think of new far off places to take me in the future!!

I used Bazzill Basics papers, acetate, chipboard and ribbon
from last months ribbon club set and some twine and jute from
the RRR store... It was really quick and fun to make and
the papers really make it masculine looking.... Be sure
and pop over and check out the other projects when
you get a chance and don't forget to join us.

Hope you have a wonderful day... we are off to Disneyland
to spend the day so it should be really fun!!
