Family Mini Tag Book

Hi and welcome to my blog today.  I am sharing another new idea for a mini book that i made with tags inside to hold the pictures and journaling.  This sweet book is for my grand daughter to put all of her closest family pictures in so that my daughter can teach her about everyone even though we don't live close by.  I am a huge Ancestry junkie and I want to make sure that my family knows all about their families and the people in them.

The die set that i am highlighting today is called:

Grateful, Thankful, Blessed 3D Layering Etched Die and is one of the beautiful
dies available in the Newest Mini Book dies by Becca Feeken.

This set has lots of amazing little bits and i used the solid tag to make all my staggered tags in my book and then decorated them with the basket of flowers and the sentiment part.  This would also be a fun die to layer with in the front of one of the 3D Vignettes base dies.

So to use this larger die a little differently i turned it on it's side and used it for the front of my book.  I used a subtle pink cardstock to cut and emboss it and then added a wood sentiment and some gorgeous flowers that i had in my stash.  Of course you can make them too with one of Becca's flower dies but i had to do this quick so i used ready made.  For the closure on the front i used the binding edge die and cut a base to make it more substantial.  It closes in the back with a piece of velcro.

And here you can see a better view of the inside of the book.  Each of the tags that i made are staggered in height so that you can see the tags with the pictures once i take them and put them in.  My daughter is visiting in a couple weeks time and then i can finish the book for her to take back with her.

I hoped that you liked my newest idea and be sure and stop back next week for an Easter idea that i just finished using envelopes.  You are going to love that one...

Have a wonderful day!
Teresa

Bible Verse Mini Book

Good Morning and Happy Thursday to you all.  Thank you for stopping by to see my newest share with Becca Feeken's newest mini book dies.  By now i hope you had the chance to pick up a few of them and now you can hop with our team each week for inspiration to use them.

This week i made a tiny little book that only measures 41/2 x 41/2.   Sometimes it can be fun and quick to use a pre-made chipboard book and fill it with lots of the die cut goodies.  For this book i used Candlewick Squares to start the base of the front and layered other dies and fussy cut pieces of the designer paper to create the front of it.  This was alot of fun to do and i loved the paper and dies together.

This is the corner die that i am focusing on this week.  I decided to use it for a pocket and add small pieces of a diecut stamped with Verses from a Penny Black set that i had. But if you want to make it more personal you can copy out your favorite verses and print them out and then add them in each page to read when you need it most.  I had a favorite book that i used to read alot and that is where i got this idea only mine is a bit more fancy.

Shapeabilities Woven Trellis Corners and Border Etched Dies

This is just a view from above to see all the pretty layers of the dies and the papers.

And here is a picture of one of the pages.  The die cuts make such a beautiful addition to each of the pages.  You could also add another one on a corner on a decorative piece to add and make it totally different kind of pocket. (For the verses i used just the die cut base of the Thankful Blessed die set).   I really love this one and hope that you do too.

Have a wonderful weekend and i hope you all do something fun!

Family Mini Fold Out Book

Hi everyone... I have another quick and easy share today using our new 3D Vignette Mini Book Dies.  This is an easy style of book to make in that it's just a simple fold out style with small pockets that you can put pictures and other things in to mail or give someone.  This one i did for my sister to send a gift card and other goodies that i found for her about our family.  The papers are from a new line of Prima and have lots of pretty vintage flowers and other fun ephemera bits to decorate with.  I had so much fun doing this one !

For the inside of this you can cut the 6x6 pad to make the pocket layers for each of the sides to start with.  Then i added small cards to add the pictures and die cut tags to slide in the gift cards.  The sentiments and other pieces are from the ephemera set that goes with the papers so it all went together really easy.

This die is a real gem.  The border is super cute to use as decoration or to also cut out of the paper to add a little something special to a plain fold or layer of a project.  I used this for the front to add more of a lacy detail to my corners and try something different.

Here is the picture of the die cut set i used for the front.  I love using this piece for lots of different things.  It works perfects for 6s6 books and looks great on the front of a card too.

And here you can see the whole thing better.  Along time ago Pine Cone Press used to have a simple white base for this card and we used to glue them together to make fold out cards that went up and down and all kinds of fun ways.  It's fun to use old ideas new ways and with new papers.  You never know how cute it will come out.

Have a really nice day.... Teresa

The Amazing Paper Grace February Die of the Month Blog Hop

The February Die of the Month is an interactive card, but don't be fooled, the pieces and parts assemble to make lovely normal cards and ensembles.  We all love interactive cards too and this one is going to be addicting to open.  Becca designed a slightly elegant version of a shutter card that you can dress it up and dress it down to your heart's desire.  Say hello to The Elegant Reveal Shutter Card.

Today our APG team is hopping to give you additional ideas on how to use the dies that come in the set.  There are several gorgeous inlay dies and a nested set of dies that create apertures or create frames.  Just imagine making a box or a basket.  We've even talked about creating a candle or a votive holder!  The dies are perfect for the cover of any card but think about using the reveal sliders on top of a box.  Here's to hoping you find some time to grab the dies and manage to sit down and play.

Here are the dies included in the set:

My Projects Today are:

I just adore this new interactive card die and i know it will be a really fun set to have to make lots of cards for this new year ahead.   The interactive insides that you see below can be used on their own or you can make them as intended with that cute slide out secret center to put something fun.

The papers i used are from Stamperie and they have such beautiful colors and patterns that worked perfectly for my card.  I used one of the tags for the center pop out to frame it and then just worked out from there.  The intricate pieces on the side can be used alone or stacked to make a back round on a card.  Or imagine using your favorite embossing powders to create a beautiful one of a kind creation to keep or send to a friend.  Trust me you are really going to have fun with this.....

And to use the pieces in another way I created this cute little mini pail and i went completely the other way in colors.  This is for a friend so i wanted to make it super cute and feminine.  I used the tag that comes in the set for my sentiment on a small band that went around the pail and also the decorative piece to finish the back side of it.  These papers are from Mintay :) so very cute aren't they.

And finally for the top i fussy cut some of the flowers out of the paper and added some handmade flowers from the DOM set that i cut out of the paper to match.   I am going to have to say this was really fun to do!

Happy Birthday with Love Card

Happy Thursday and thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have all had a great week so far, i have been catching up with all my crafty things and doing a bit of reorganizing for spring to get ready for all the new dies that Becca is releasing.  It's going to be Amazing for sure.

Today my card that i am sharing with all of you is a mixed layered card using 2 of the brand new dies just released from the Mini album set and an older die that is one of my favorites from the Vintage Treasures line called Cannetille Rectangle.  I mixed colors so that you can really see all the lacy details in each of the layers and added a simple oval with a stamped sentiment for a birthday card i need coming up soon.

Here are the dies so that you can see all the gorgeous pieces in each of them.

I love that this one has a heart and a sentiment in them.  They mix so nice with the other dies.

And here is a closeup so that you can see how pretty all of it looks together.  Sometimes you make something and just sit back and say wow i really like that.  This is one of those cards for me.  I love Becca's dies and how pretty they make up into cards and other things.

I hope you have a chance to stop over to the Spellbinders store and see what's new and try a few.  You are going to love working with them for all your holiday projects coming up.
Have a really wonderful week and be sure and check back for more mini book inspiration !!

You are loved envelope mini book

I hope you had a fun day yesterday with Superbowl ( Yay my team won :) and had lots of yummy things to eat.  Or---- like me you got a few crafty things done early and did both of them.  How fun was that.

Today i have another share for a mini book idea that is one of my all time favorites.  I did this one for a trip to Disneyland once and thought how fun it would be for Valentines to add love coupons and maybe a few fun gift cards for ice cream and the movies.  It's easy to make and you can do them in all kinds of themes... even wedding and babies would be fun books to make.

For my book i used 3 of Beccas dies from the last collection and did some layering on the front which was really fun to do.  I started with the Candlewick Rectangle for the back and over that i added the Candlewick Petticoats and tucked under the bottom i added a piece of the white Candlewick Doily Border.  It all went together so pretty and the papers really show them off.

And here you can see the envelopes on the inside.  You simply use as many as you like and glue them together with the flaps so that they can fold and then have fun decorating each of them on the fronts and the backs.  I used a new paper line from Echo Park with the stickers to make it go quick.  For my decorative piece on the bottom of each i added a cut/embossed piece of white Candlewick Doily Border.  It makes it so pretty and feminine.

And here is the inside of the book with a few of the envelope fold outs so that you can see them.  I used 6 envelopes on mine and could have used more but this is all i had time for so it worked out great.

To make the outside cover of the book you simple measure the piece of 12x12 to the envelopes stacked up with a ruler and then score it on a Scor-pal and fold it over the insides.  And don't forget to leave a flap to close it.   I used a small piece of velcro to close my book and keep everything all tucked up good inside.

I hope i inspired you to get out some fun papers from your stash and grab a few dies and make something fun.  Have a really special week ... Hugs... Teresa
