A Ruby Red Christmas

I hope you all love the color red for Christmas because i got a little carried away with creating my gift card pizza box for todays project.  Since i have been using lots of other colors in my projects i have already posted I thought i would get out some red mirror card and create a quick 4x5 pizza box i could cover.  And wow i really love the richness of how this came out.  The poinsettia's that i created to go with it really made it that much more amazing.

Pizza boxes are super easy to create with just an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and a Scor-pal.  The size of mine is 4x5 and inside I can add some pretty tissue and add a gift card or even a piece of jewelry.

  For the basic box i added pieces of mirror card to cover all the sides of my white box and then cut the new "Charming Snowflake Doily in 2 kinds of red mirror card and overlapped them for the top.  The tiny red hearts pop out when you cut it so i used the bottom layer of red pieces to fill in the top red for contrast.  And to make it stay closed i opted to make a simple band in red to attach the doily too.  That way i can add ribbon to the side and it wouldn't interfere with all the textures that i have already on it.

The doily is really pretty and you get a bell and a snowflake charm in this set.

The are so cute!!

This picture really shows off all the details in the die set and also the poinsettia's and the cute little bell charm that comes with this set.  The best part is that it went together really easy and you can make a dozen of them in a night for gifts this year!  How fun would that be?

Red Mirror card

I hope you all had a chance to preview all the new dies from the "Charming Christmas Collection" by Becca Feeken last week.  We all had such a wonderful time sharing our fun ideas with all of you and now it's time for us to share even more ideas to create with them in the weeks ahead.  

Today i picked another of my favorite dies called "Charming Etched Boughs" and it's a beauty.  I chose to make a double layered frame on the front of my card in a beautiful green foiled paper set off by white in the opposite direction.  This gave it a pretty lacy feel and really made the sentiment pop.  I love that this die is so delicate and it cuts like butter so that is really nice for doing lots of cards.  It was fun to add a beautiful poinsettia and rhinestones in red to make it really festive.

Behind my dies i used my favorite "Hemstitch Squares" die to give the lacy dies something to balance on the base and new paper from Ruby Rock-it that you can get in the Spotlight stores if you are across the pond in Australia.  It's a beautiful set and really makes the dies look amazing.!!

Ruby Rock-it Favs

I don't often get the chance to share my other teams posts on my blog but i have a few i want to share today that are some of my favs.  Ruby Rock-it if you don't know already has some amazing paper lines and they also have this fun line called Fundamentals.  These are all your basics that you always need like colored cards, letter, bling, flowers, mini letters and so much more to use for all your crafty things.  I am so blessed to be able to work with all that they have and hope you enjoy a few of the things that i was able to design for them.

This is one of my favorite wedding paper lines that they carry. It is called Betrothed and you can find the link here to order it. It has both gold and silver on the papers so it's easy to mix a neutral color with it to make it personal to match a wedding.

And these papers are from another wedding line that has lots of pretty grey patterns and whites in it.  I mixed it with the Hearts and Stripes papers in silver and pink for these fun Valentine projects.

And this project i did for a friend for her new baby girl.  I used lots of pinks and kraft papers and then added their pretty gold faded empire letters on the top.  They have so many pretty things......

This is also from one of the Bella wedding lines of paper.  This one is called "True Romantic".  I used lots of bling and the new doilies that they came out with in the Fundamentals lines and really had some fun with it.  Just layering pretty papers makes such gorgeous pages.  

And... lastly this is one of my favorite vintage lines that they have called "Faded Empire".  I love all the beautiful colors in this one and really had a good time just making lots of things with it for gifts.  I also used some of my favorite dies from Spellbinders... looks like i will never get over my obsession with them.  Anyway thanks for stopping over to see what is new and hope you have a wonderful and very, very crafty day!!  Teresa

Time for Tea and a blog hop too...

I hope that your holidays were really fun and you all got lots of time off to spend doing fun things with family and friends.  I spent lots of time at the castle this year which was really fun but did get a few moments to spend with my family to relax so it was a wonderful holiday for me.

Today i have a few projects to share that i did for Ruby Rock-it's Faded Empire Collection.  This beautiful line was one of my favorites and i went a little crazy making up some things for a tea party and would also work great for Valentines. The paper line had lots of tags and other fun embellishments and gorgeous victorian papers to create cards, tags and boxes with.  All the fancy edges i have on them are from Spellbinders dies... i have so many of them it's really nice to be able and use them for lots of projects i have....but you can use punches to achieve some of the same ideas.

These projects are my favorites.  Not only for the pretty colors in the papers but also for the pretty princess diecuts that they have to go with the paper line.  It was really fun to do this.

For the rest of my life...

Hi again and thanks so much for stopping over today.  I have another Quietfire Design card today to share and this one i also made with one of the new Wedding lines from Ruby Rock-it.  It's a really pretty line of paper called New York and it's filled with lots of pale shades of aqua, black and white and went perfect with the stamp i chose to use for today.

To start my card I found a gate card base in my stash that was white so that is how i began.  I cut rectangles of printed paper to fit both sides of the gates and then made a smaller square to fit inside and match the die that i was using for the sentiment.  I cut 2 layers of the fancy die in white and put 3D foam dots in-between them to make the lace stand out more.  Then before i glued it to the base i wrapped a band of white ribbon around the card and secured it in the back.  The flowers and pearls i added last as my finishing touches.  The sentiment really speaks for itself i think..... it's beautiful.

You can find the stamp in the Quietfire Design store called "For the Rest of my Life".  I love Suzannes' stamps and dies... the sentiments are always so heartfelt and come out so beautiful when you create things with them.  And it's calligraphy and i love that part too!!

Craft Hoarders Blog Hop for October

It's time again for the Craft Hoarders to share lots of projects with an anything goes theme

this month.  Each of us has created something special from all those crafty things we
have in our stashes to give you a little inspiration to create something for yourself.
Today i have a really fun project i made for me.  It's a Starbucks recipe book
with cards from all my friends and their favorite drinks and goodies they like to eat.
I have gone in so many times and listened to their orders but i can't remember
a single one... so an idea was born.

 

  

I used the Barista paper line from Basic Grey and it was perfect for this project.
The stickers had fun little coffee images and i filled the other in with some
letter stickers from Ruby Rock-it and bits of their Wood Veneers
with words on them.  So over the moon excited about this!!

Each of the pages is different and has places to slide the recipe cards in for
the coffee and tea ideas and some yummy goodies to bake to go with them.

The tiny letters were some of my favorite things to use and are from
Ruby Rock-it.  They have lots of sizes in each pack and are the perfect
size to use for cards and other fun things like this book.

Ruby Rock-it Blog Hop today...

Hello Ruby Rock-It and Daring Cardmakers Fans! We are so excited to be teaming up with this fabulous group of crafters!  We have a fun blog hop that we are kicking off today!!

Yes, that’s right, you can sit, relax, and hop through the blogs of our Creative Team members as we show you what we have been creating! Today i made a special little card box to give as a gift and it has 6 little cards that i made with the new "Happy Days" paper collection. It's filled with cute owls, butterflies, flowers, bee's and adorable prints that you can mix and match.   

My inspiration for this started with a tiny white jewelry box that i had laying around and i 

decided to create a little card gift box that i could give for a present.  The box measures

about 4x4 inches so i made 6 tiny cards for the inside with envelopes.  

For this project i started with the "Happy Days Collection" Patchwork and

cut each of them to fit the tops of the cards.  Then i added tiny die cuts

and the 3D stickers that matched to dress them up.  It was really fun! 

Here is a view of some of the cards.  It was fun that each of the patchwork pieces

had it's own color and design and the sentiments from the "Chit-Chat" paper went perfect.

  

And lastly for the top i used the Spellbinders "Diamondessense" die for my base

and cut it in white and pink and then fussy cut the adorable owls and flowers from

the "Hoot" paper and the "Bouquet" papers.  The ribbons i got from my stash

from Really Reasonable Ribbons. And now it's time to hop on to Miri's blog if you

Ruby Rock-it and Clear Scraps together

Today i have a fun post to share for two special things.  Up on the Ruby Rock-it blog

all this week we are partnering with Clear Scraps and Thermoweb and it was really

fun.  I love doing clear books and projects because you always get a sneak peak

of what is coming behind it.  Today's project is going to be a book that i am going

to put all the photos from my Grandmothers 100th birthday party today.  Isn't that

just one of the most amazing things on this earth!!  I can't imagine how neat that is.

 For my project i used the Heritage collection because of all the gorgeous colors

that it has in it and there are lots of butterflies and other amazing tags and

 embellishments. I used the Clear Scraps Travel Brag Bag Album for my project 

and it came with lots of clear pages and these cute tags that you see sticking up

 on the top with ribbons. The front is a mixture of the quarters sheets that

 i fussy cut and i added my own letters that i cut from a Spellbinders die to match. 

 The best part of sticking them on was an amazing adhesive tape runner 

from Thermo web.  I couldn't have picked a better product to glide on the 

back of each of the letters and the sticky is great on it.

On each of the pages i used the tags and cut outs in the collection and

left lots of places for photos from her big event. She had lots of family

and friends come over to celebrate with her so there are lots of photos.

I really love all the pretty prints and colors of this line :) It is

so bright and colorful and cheerful and really blends with anything.

Here are some more photos of the inside and all the pretty

tag cut ups and the die-cuts that i used for it. I think i might 

have to add a few more pages but it will be easy with all the

rest of the papers that i still have.  

And here is one of the last pages in the book with some of the 

Heritage cut ups that i used to decorate it.  There were so many gorgeous

pieces in this package and i still have lots to make a few cards with. The

set also has these gorgeous butterfly 3D embellies and i used those on

a couple of pages to really make it gorgeous for her.

And if you have made a clear book then you can't live without zots to glue

down all the papers to it with.  These sticky little dots are amazing and 

really keep your album stuck together good.

Wedding page with Ruby Rock-it papers

Hi everyone--- it's so nice to have you stop over and see what's new with me.  It's 

been a busy weekend at the castle and i need to post a few things i have been doing 

so i did this page of my nephew and his bride and thought i would share it.

Ruby Rock-it has some gorgeous wedding papers out for this spring for all those

amazing projects you need to get made and i especially love this one in black 

and white.  It's from the Bella Collection and called True Love.  I created a simple 

base for my photos and then used rings with dies and open circles to signify eternity.  

I used the silver glitter adhesive letters that came in the set too so that it would match

all the pretty bling that i put on it.

I esspecially love the sweet tag that was with this paper set.  It went so perfect

with the photo and how much they adore each other.  And the flowers are so 

pretty too.  You can get all of this set on the website here....

And here is a quick close-up of their bling.  They have both

  lace and strips of rhinestones in this set so it's great for using across

 the bottom under photos. 

I have to run... lots and lots to get up and posted for this week so

Out in the Deep Blue Sea...

It's been way too long since my last post but if you don't see much of me

be sure and check out the posts on Quietfire, Really Reasonable Ribbon, 

or Ruby Rock-it and i am sure you will find something fun there too.

Today i have a page to share and don't be shocked-- i know.. it's been awhile

for one but this paper was so perfect for my photo of my niece i just had to 

jump at the inspiration and get it done.  The papers are of course from Ruby

Rock-it (Something Blue Collection) but they are wedding ones 

so i flipped them over and this is what i ended up with.  

The photo is from Kona Hawaii when she was over this past year.

 I spend every day in the water when we go over on vacation -so i wanted to 

make it simple since she is in the middle of the ocean in the deep blue sea....

so very, very happy :)

I think one of my favorite papers is the aqua shade geography paper in the back.

It picked up the water so nice and the die cut of A Beautiful moment was perfect.

I added some stenciling in the backround and a big circle around the photo but

it's a little hard to see since it is clear and glittery.  I wanted it to be more like water

so in person it looks pretty cool. 

The circle dies are from Spellbinders Celebrations line and it's an awesome

die in that you can cut alot of them at one time.  It's called Fun Filled Rings 

and it is exactly that.  I also added a bit of jute ribbon to run through my tag

and finished it with bubble letters from Authentique in aqua.  It's super simple

but it was fun and now i can put it up in my scraproom to share.

It's a Ruby-Rock-it kind of Monday...

Hi Everyone ... i have a quick card to share that i did with some of the brand new
Ruby Rock-it papers that i recently got... It was super easy to do too.

Just in case you didn't know Ruby Rock-it has some really cute kraft papers in different 

patterns and i  love using them.  For this i used some of the Kraftastic  papers  

 and layered them on the base of the card and then used one of the tags that go

with all of it to build a pretty flower spray on.  I used the small adhesive glitter letters in
silver and that pretty black rhinestone swirl under all of it.  I really love the flowers and

i added a small fancy Spellbinders doily die under all of it and a bit of foliage on the sides

to make it even more feminine looking.  The seam binding ribbon is from

the Really Reasonable Ribbon store and it comes in lots of colors so be sure

and give them a look too.
