Merry Christmas Angel

I have a really fun project you can make up to decorate your house this year or if have time you can make up a few of these to give for friends too.  I started with the " New Angel Die"  set from Becca Feeken and then added lots of other fun die cuts to create a stand for her and a little house too.

To make this really special and angelical--- i picked lots of white papers and silver to cut the die cuts.
For her stand i used the "charming snowflake doily" i cut it out of white card stock and then cut one side off just a bit and folded it over on top of the other side to make a bit of a cone like you see below for her to rest on.  It was perfect and she actually fit in the slots of the die and I added just a few rhinestones to make it sparkle more.

To make the house for her i cut 3 pieces of the "Grand Cabinet" die set and added a really pretty silver printed paper in 2 of the centers to offset and balance all the white i was using.  Those i used for the back and then i cut out the center using the die in the set so you can see her in the middle.
It was fun to use multiple cuts of the die differently and it came out really pretty I think.  And to finish it i made a "petite double silver bow" for the front and stamped the words Merry Christmas in silver and embossed it and then cut it out for the front top of the little house.

The silver mirror card stock you can get at Micheal's or Hobby Lobby and cuts really nice with the dies.  They would be adorable to fill up a Christmas tree or great for kids to make for a craft project.
As always try cutting something in a new way or try new colors, you never know what amazing things you might dream up!!

Have a glorious day!!
Teresa

The Greatest Gift of All

This week i am headed in a different direction for designing a Christmas card for a friend.  I am often inspired by my papers that i have in my stash so this one was actually started with the worded backround in that beautiful soft shade of red.  And on top of that i added just the small rectangle from the Charming Tag Pocket to create a pretty backround.  I cut 6 of them in white and attached them like you see on the card above.  Easy peasy so far right?

Then on top of that i cut/embossed the middle size Hemstitch oval in the same white and stamped a sentiment on the top in black Versafine ink.  I then attached it with 3D Foam dots in the center.

And the Poinsettia flowers i wanted to be the same ivory with just a touch of the red in the centers. So I used a mixture of dark rose chalk ink and a darker red ink for the centers and i think it blended really well.  You can add lots of layers to your flowers or just a few and add pretty stamens in the center to really set them off.  I  really love the intricate lines in each of the flowers.....

So when you get all your flowers made and they dry attach them to the bottom of the card over a small bow made with seam binding ribbon.  Then add a few rhinestones to the sides and it's ready to mail.  I really had fun with this one and i hope that you try something fun and new with your new dies from Becca and you will have to share it with us on the blog... we would love to see what you do too!!

Have a really wonderful weekend,
Teresa

A Ruby Red Christmas

I hope you all love the color red for Christmas because i got a little carried away with creating my gift card pizza box for todays project.  Since i have been using lots of other colors in my projects i have already posted I thought i would get out some red mirror card and create a quick 4x5 pizza box i could cover.  And wow i really love the richness of how this came out.  The poinsettia's that i created to go with it really made it that much more amazing.

Pizza boxes are super easy to create with just an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and a Scor-pal.  The size of mine is 4x5 and inside I can add some pretty tissue and add a gift card or even a piece of jewelry.
For the basic box i added pieces of mirror card to cover all the sides of my white box and then cut the new "Charming Snowflake Doily in 2 kinds of red mirror card and overlapped them for the top.  The tiny red hearts pop out when you cut it so i used the bottom layer of red pieces to fill in the top red for contrast.  And to make it stay closed i opted to make a simple band in red to attach the doily too.  That way i can add ribbon to the side and it wouldn't interfere with all the textures that i have already on it.

The doily is really pretty and you get a bell and a snowflake charm in this set.
The are so cute!!

This picture really shows off all the details in the die set and also the poinsettia's and the cute little bell charm that comes with this set.  The best part is that it went together really easy and you can make a dozen of them in a night for gifts this year!  How fun would that be?

Thanks so much for stopping by today and be sure and pop over next Sat for another new idea!

Hugs and Smiles..... Teresa

Snowflakes for Christmas

Today i have another style of Christmas card to share with all of you using Becca Feeken's newest snowflake die set from "A Charming Christmas".  And... I wanted to use a few of my old dies to mix in with it just to play around.  And this is what i came up with.  Since all the dies have so much detail in them i chose simple papers in blues and silvers and then set to work to cut the pieces out and layer them.  It was really fun and in the end the snowflake die really popped in the center of the card.

Here is the set and you can see all the gorgeous details in each of the pieces.  You can get it
on the Spellbinders website here <<< or in the UK you can get it from the

Some of my favorite dies to mix in are the hemstitch series of dies and as you can see i used the square in silver and the circle in the blue to make the silver snowflakes pop more.  The darker blue die set is the Flourished Square from the Romancing the Swirl Set.  I love the lacy effect that it has and it complimented the Hemstitch dies perfectly and set the perfect stage for a layered snowflake.

So have fun this holiday season and get out your favorite dies from Becca and mix them up a bit to create beautiful cards for your family and friends this year.  I am getting a huge stock pile to send this year so far and using all the dies from " A Charming Christmas" so don't wait --and get your order in so that you can be ready to wow everyone too.

Enjoy the weekend and thank you for stopping by today

Teresa
