Something fun....

This month at the CHA show i was so blessed to see all the new products
being introduced and also got to meet a few amazing artists along the way.
By far my favorite besides Suzanne from Quietfire and everyone at Spellbinders
i got to meet Andy Skinner from Deco art and found his new line of paints.
Well all i can say is wow and i had to have all of them!!  It's a fun mixed media
line that has lots of fun colors and mediums to mix but with a little twist.
Oh and one of my favorite stamp companies Stampendous is joining with
him and Spellbinders to create lots of really cool projects to do.

I love to paint and this started off as just a wooden heart and i used a base layer
of gesso and then stenciled on some modeling paste to create that circle layer.
Then i added a layer of Media antiquing cream and then stamped on another
layer of paint with a flowery stamp i had in my stash.  And then i used just a
little bit of Deco Art Metallic lustre in brown and aqua with a damp t shirt to
get the pattern to show up a little more. There is also a product called
interference and it by far is the coolest product.  It was great fun.  And those cool
little flowers are made with a Spellbinders die and i made them in a
soft gold metal and painted them up a little too with aqua mulit surface paint.

Here is a closer look at the heart. The stamp was from a Valentine set by Technique
Tuesday and i used Archival ink for that.  Anyway i have to go and teach my second
class today up at Scrap N Yap but i have more to share this week and i am
sure i will have lots more with this really fun new product line!!

Thanks so much for stopping over today, Happy Saturday to you all!

Quietfire Queen of Hearts Blog Hop...

Welcome to the Quietfire Design Queen of Hearts Blog Hop! Today is Day 3
of our hop and today you will be visiting Yvonne's blog first and then me....

Everyone created gorgeous projects so far and this is my contribution
with the new stamps that were just released!

I adore this cute stamp called The Best Kiss and I have a nephew that is newly married
this summer so i decided to make a shadow box frame for them for a gift.  The picture
they have is mostly black and white so i decided to keep it really neutral and stay with cream
and silver to make the photo and the sentiment pop more.  I wanted to make it more
timeless style wise so i kept it simple with flowers and rhinestones to match the silver.

For the silver behind the sentiment i used real silver metal from Spellbinders that
you can cut with dies.  It was perfect and gave me a wonderful and classy sturdy base
for my sentiment to be attached to.  The flowers and foliage i created to match
from Spellbinders dies too and the bling is from Want2Scrap. Oh and i also
used another fun die called Peacock feathers that i cut in silver. It looks so pretty.
I can hardly wait to give this to them :)  I hope they like it.

And of course I had to make a matching card for the gift so i used the
same silver paper along with some white and pink cardstock.  For the sentiment
i used Brilliance Platinum Planet ink by Imagine/Tsukineko.  It matched perfect
and i love the way it glistens in the light.  The stamp is called Have a Heart and
it has the most beautiful saying from Charles Dickens on it.  I love all the flourishes
and the pretty heart at the top of the stamp. It's so pretty in silver.  The pretty pink
ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and it too went perfectly.

For the card base itself i layered 3 Spellbinders dies.  The silver one is
called 5x7 Mystical Embrace and the next layer is Holiday Snowflakes
that i did in pink and then for my sentiment I used Labels 28. It was fun
layering different dies and the sentiment fit perfectly on the top one.

Here is a photo of the stamp as you would buy it and the stamps
are all cling mounted so they really are easy to stamp with.

RRR Challenge for January

We have another fun challenge up on the RRR blog today using lots
of Ribbons and Hearts on your project.  It was easy, peasy i think considering
this is my favorite holiday.  I love all the hearts, lace, ribbons and other
good things and especially the chocolate from See's candy...

I was ordering some fun containers before Christmas and found this
cute tin so i decided to make a simple wrap for it and i found the
cutest tag for the front as my theme.  It says True Love's Kiss
and how cute is it to fill with lots of Hershey kisses for my DH.  I used
the white lace from the Love is in the Air Ribbon Club Assortment and I
also used the metallic edged satin ribbon in red to make the pretty bow that
is underneath the rose.  The card is made from the tags that come with
the Simple Stories Valentines paper and i tied it with the same satin ribbon.

One of my favorite products are all the cottage roses and flowers that
you can get and this way you can give a beautiful rose that will last
a long, long time.  I hope you like it and if you ever have a question
about how to do something please leave me a message and i will try
and answer it to help if i can.  Thanks for stopping over today :)

with lots of ribbons and lace from the January Ribbon Club Assortment.

So if you started from the beginning you should have
hopped over from Heathers' blog....

stickers and lots of ribbons and flowers from RRR and this is what i came up
with.  The colors are really pretty together and it went together pretty quick. I
also had some metallic edged satin ribbon i added to it and some in tulle in red.

I really love the tags on this set.  They have some really cute sayings.

Love this check ribbon on this page... so cute
with the little typewriter tag :)

My first Craft Hoarders Anonymous post

Well today is a really great day because it's my first post on the
Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog.  This is the perfect team for me since
i am just a bit of a hoarder and now i can use up some of the things in
my stash to give as gifts.  It's going to be a really fun year!!

Since we just had Christmas i am sharing a book that i did for my sister
to put all the cute photos of her cats in.  She had an amazing big white persian
cat named Mabel and sadly she passed away recently and it was the perfect
papers from Graphic 45 to use.  The line is called Raining Cats and Dogs and
it's absolutely adorable.   The line comes with lots of flowers and
tags and other fun goodies so it was easy to check off lots of things from
my list of things i needed to use to make this project for her....

The flowers i made with the punch out's that come in the set.  I love the
bright prints and the check ribbon from RRR went great with it.  You can
also see here how i cut and staggered the bottom edges of the book.  The
papers are so pretty i wanted to show them off on each page before i turned
them to see the next photo on it.  And it comes with these way too cute
chipboard pieces,  buttons, tags and all kinds of goodies to decorate with.

Here and below i am sharing each of the pages that i did.
Each of them has lots of cute things on it and lots of ribbon
and buttons and brads.  It was really fun to do and my sister
really liked it.

The pictures of the cats on this are just way too cute!

Thank for stopping over to see my book and be sure and enter the
challenge yourself and see what you can dig out of your stash to make
something for someone really special!!  Have a wonderful day :)

I love you Valentine card

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping over today.  I have another new card
today for Valentines to share that i actually started with the ribbons
and got really lucky with matching papers and other goodies to do it.

I love this ribbon with all the pretty pinks and browns and the paper
from the Crate paper set along with a pink solid went perfect.  For this
card i used a really fun die from Spellbinders Celebrations line that gives
you small perforations in it called Pierced Circles and with that i layered
one of my favorite dies Lacey Circles in white and pink for the back.

The little wooden sentiment is from Prima and the cute little button is
from a friend who I bought lots of vintage buttons from.  It was just
the perfect touch for what i was looking for.  But it's time to head
off to the CHA show today to discover lots and lots of goodies to
create more fun things with so i better post this and get going.

Thanks for stopping over and have a really amazing day!!

New Cardabilites Challenge is up

Today i am sharing with the new challenge sketch up on Cardabilites.  I had
alot of fun with making this card and used some new things i just got to to
play a little.  The product is called Glass Bead Glitter Gel and it's pretty neat.
I thought it would be fun to create my own stencil so i used a really pretty
Spellbinders die and cut one from paper.  Then i used the spatula to spread the
gel onto the precut card piece in pink.  After i pulled off my home made stencil
i added just a touch of some Stampendous glitter to it to make it sparkle. I love
the way i got just a bit of a design onto the paper and the glitter adds just
the right amount of something to make it stand out.  And it was fun to experiment!

Here you can see the stencil i made with the paper and the gel from Faber-Castell.

Here is a closeup of the gel back round and the  little flowers and circles that
i used to do the sketch design with.  Since the gel dries clear i found a big clear
acetate heart in my stash and used that to do my flower design on.  After i got it
the way i wanted i took a paint brush and splattered white paint on the top of
it to brighten it up a little more.  The Spellbinders dies are just the circles
that i cut to make the bands and Stately Circles which is one of my favs!!

Be sure and check out all the other girls projects on the blog
for Cardabilities, they always have some amazing inspiration  :)

Have a great day....Teresa

Be Mine Valentine

I am so happy to be starting a new year and that means i can start making
lots of Valentine things for my favorite holiday.  I am trying really hard
to do things a little less complicated so today i am sharing a card that
i made with one of the new Victorian dies from Spellbinders and some
papers and chipboard stickers from Crate paper and MME.

This card i did so that you can actually stand it up to show it off
or i guess you could create it with a neat pocket inside and slide a
few yummy treats or a gift card inside too.  To make it i just created
the layered backround and then cut 2 pieces from the Royal Circle die set,
one in pink and the smaller in ivory.  Then i layered them with 3D foam
dots and added some ribbons.  The chipboard is from the Crate paper
set and the words in the center are rub ons from them too.  And
they are really good quality so it was easy to do.

I hope you like it

Happy New Year...

Happy New Everyone... i hope that you had a great celebration
in your part of the world and for me i am looking forward to starting
a brand new year and begin lots of new things.  I am hopefully starting a
new job and will know soon if it all works out for me.... I am excited.

But meantime i have a card to share from Quietfire Design stamps
that i did over the holidays and i really like the way it came out.

I used the stamp set that you can get here called i wouldn't
have missed being your friend for anything.  I had some new papers
that i had just gotten from Crate paper and the colors and little hearts
on all the papers are really, really cute.  I had lots of flowers
in my stash to match it from Petaloo and i used a couple of my favorite
dies to create the lattice backround on the card.  They are called
Basic Lattice and Matting Basics.  Both are from the card creator
die sets from Spellbinders and i really love using them.

Thanks so much for stopping over for a visit and have a wonderful day!
