April Die of the Month Blog Hop

The typewriter is a vintage icon of our civilization and our march towards print freedom and in recent years, a collectors item.  Far from being a relic of the past Becca wanted to recreate a desktop version with a place to say what you want to say.  Isn't it just adorable?  Introducing our newest die of the month for April the Pop up 3D Vignette Typewriter.

It goes together just like all other 3D Vignettes, yet it is open at the top.  It still folds down flat so that you can mail it!  It comes with die-cut word inlays yet you can stamp your message on the front page or all the pages.

Here are the dies included in the set:

Each of the pieces cut like butter and it's super simple to put together and there are easy directions if you need them so no worries on this cutie :)

My Project Today:

There have been so many amazing 3D versions of this die set out already so i am sharing  an easy flat version of the card in a cute gingham check paper that i found and made lots of handmade APG flowers to decorate it.

The color palette I chose is chocolate, pink and white and I don't honestly think that there isn't a bad color way that you can do with this die set.  The instructions are super easy and once you get the hang of it then you can make them to send out to all of your friends to have.  Who wouldn't want this adorable little card up on a shelf to make you smile.  And if you look behind the typewriter on my card you can see a small piece of vellum that i added with one of our favorite die sets.  Don't forget to add some of your other favorites to create a back ground on your cards.  Love, Love, Love this die :)

And here you can see the flat version on how i set all of this out.  One of my favorite parts of this is all the texture that each of the little pieces have.  It really makes this one- amazing- set!

The Amazing Paper Grace February Die of the Month Blog Hop

The February Die of the Month is an interactive card, but don't be fooled, the pieces and parts assemble to make lovely normal cards and ensembles.  We all love interactive cards too and this one is going to be addicting to open.  Becca designed a slightly elegant version of a shutter card that you can dress it up and dress it down to your heart's desire.  Say hello to The Elegant Reveal Shutter Card.

Today our APG team is hopping to give you additional ideas on how to use the dies that come in the set.  There are several gorgeous inlay dies and a nested set of dies that create apertures or create frames.  Just imagine making a box or a basket.  We've even talked about creating a candle or a votive holder!  The dies are perfect for the cover of any card but think about using the reveal sliders on top of a box.  Here's to hoping you find some time to grab the dies and manage to sit down and play.

Here are the dies included in the set:

My Projects Today are:

I just adore this new interactive card die and i know it will be a really fun set to have to make lots of cards for this new year ahead.   The interactive insides that you see below can be used on their own or you can make them as intended with that cute slide out secret center to put something fun.

The papers i used are from Stamperie and they have such beautiful colors and patterns that worked perfectly for my card.  I used one of the tags for the center pop out to frame it and then just worked out from there.  The intricate pieces on the side can be used alone or stacked to make a back round on a card.  Or imagine using your favorite embossing powders to create a beautiful one of a kind creation to keep or send to a friend.  Trust me you are really going to have fun with this.....

And to use the pieces in another way I created this cute little mini pail and i went completely the other way in colors.  This is for a friend so i wanted to make it super cute and feminine.  I used the tag that comes in the set for my sentiment on a small band that went around the pail and also the decorative piece to finish the back side of it.  These papers are from Mintay :) so very cute aren't they.

And finally for the top i fussy cut some of the flowers out of the paper and added some handmade flowers from the DOM set that i cut out of the paper to match.   I am going to have to say this was really fun to do!

Supply List:
Stamps: Penny Black Stamps
Paper: Mintay and Stamperia ( order from FrankGarciaStudio.com)
Ink: Tsukineko
Accessories: Ribbons, adhesive pearls, Scor tape, 3D Foam Tape

Introducing Candlewick Classics Blog Hop/Giveaway

Hi Friends, last month we introduced the "Candlewick Sampler Collection" and this month we are introducing a small companion collection that drives home that sweet Candlewick look.  We introduce these so that there is a central place you can see them and how they are used; we hope you will welcome "Candlewick Classics".  If you loved Hemstitch Classics like Hemstitch Rectangles then you'll love the individual new dies options in the 6 die collection.  These are basics you'll definitely want to have in your stash this year.

A Bit About Candlewick Classics

Nowhere does the candlewick look and feel come through more than on the Candlewick Classics.  It's a delicate look reminiscent of actual Candlewicking and punctuated by the rounded motifs that imply french knots.  Candlewick Classics are classic square, circle, oval and rectangle label shapes that are bordered with the candlewick motif in the most useful card making sizes.  They also mix and match with the Hemstitch Classics.

What is Candlewicking?  Browse the google images found when searching "Candlewicking" and you will see that it is a type of whitework embroidery normally done on cream or white fabric embellished with cream or white french knots.  The series of french knots create the outlines of the pattern giving it a unique look while adding a touch of elegance.  In these dies, you can see rounded motifs that hint at the texture of dots.  Without overpowering, it's a sweet little detail present on all the dies in the collection.  Plus, it just happens to be the perfect spot to place a pearl.  Google candlewicking and you'll see exactly what we mean.

Today I'm introducing Candlewick Ovals S5-401

Candlewick Classics is another one of my favorite collections that was designed by Becca Feeken and for things like stamping or stickers these Oval dies are truly going to be a huge staple in your stash of dies to use.  I had an adorable stamp put away last year so this die was perfect to use for my card project today to send to my daughter this year.

My Projects For Today:

I really wanted to bring this die to life with lots of glamour so i used a base of pale pink and gold to start my card and then over that i layered the largest piece of the Candlewick oval over a white shadow of the same die.  Then inside that i stamped a pretty sentiment on pale ivory in black and carefully set that inside of the gold frame.  I used lots of rhinestones around the outside edges and added a simple pink ribbon bow with a handmade flower to match.  I really love this die !!

And for my Second Project:

For my second project i created a little basket with chipboard from my stash and covered the back and front with some beautiful Country papers that i found from Prima.  It has a dozen little matching cards in it that I made that can be sent for Thank you's, Hello or even a birthday.  But the best part is that they are all in one easy place to find them. And when you get really busy and need a quick card to send it's the best thing ever.....

I really love all the new classics dies and each of them can be used in so many ways.  This note caddy will be such a great gift for someone this year.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

November Die of the Month Blog Hop

Christmas is on the horizon and of course, as makers, made Christmas Cards are our hallmark during the holidays.  This month's APG Die of the Month is Winters Solstice Snowflake.  It is a delicate doily looking snowflake done in a regal way to usher in the Holiday Season.

The Snowflake was designed by Becca but if you know her well, as a budget crafter, she intends for you to use the design year-round.  Her holiday offerings always can be dressed up for Holidays and dressed down for any other occasion and the same is true with Winters Solstice Snowflake.

Our new die for the month of November is truly exceptional and as you can see above and will be able to see as you hop through all of our blogs.  There are so many gorgeous pieces that you can use in a lot of different ways.  Always think about separating them for other crafty endeavors or mixing them with your other APG dies too.

My Project Today is a Winter Snowflake Calendar for your desk:

If you work in an office of any kind --a wonderful gift to get or give would be a pretty calendar to brighten up your desk for the season.  You will need a small calendar and 2 pieces of the largest piece of the die for the top and bottom for this project.  I did the top piece really fancy and kept the bottom simple since i have to add the calendar to it.  Be sure and add a piece of chipboard or thicker layer of cardstock to reinforce your piece to last.  And for the back create an easel with chipboard to help it stand up.  These would be really fun to make for each of the holidays too and just change the paper and theme.

My Second Project is a Vintage Thank you card:

And like i mentioned above-- just use one piece of the set to create an accent for a card or a box.  I only used the center piece for my card and created a little border to go across the center and then i wrapped it with peach silk ribbon to match and a few flowers and a sentiment.  The beautiful papers are from Graphic 45 and the simple cottage prints make the border look so pretty and vintage looking.

Supply List:

Paper: Graphic 45,
Ink: Tsukineko Vintage Sepia
Accessories: Silk Ribbon, small 2020 calendar, adhesives by Scrapbook.com, rhinestones

Away in the Manger card

Hello and thank you so very much for stopping by today.  With our new release out of Christmas dies from Becca Feeken and Spellbinders last week i have had so much fun to putting together new cards for the holidays this year.   Each of the dies that she designed in the set can be used for flat cards or these amazing 3D cards that we showed you on the hop last week.  The choice is up to you on how to use all of the pieces and there really is so much that you can do with them.

My card today is using the 2 die sets that you see below.  I  found some blue snowflake paper that looked like stars so that is where i started and then chose colors to compliment it.  I used a really dark navy, silver and white to cut out all the pieces and then layered them simply on the front of the card.  Pop dots help make all the pieces show up really great and a few rhinestones helped give it that holiday glow and sparkle i wanted.

You all know that my favorite part of these dies is that fact that you can use them separate too.  I made my card flat so i just used the outside edge and then added the star from the nativity set and the Away in the Manger piece.  I was really happy with how it came out and it was super easy to make.

Here is my closeup to see all the gorgeous detailing in the die set.  I love that all the dies compliment each other so well and make such beautiful cards when put together.  I hope that you get a chance to order a few from Becca's new line of 3D dies.  You will not be disappointed and you can have them ready if you start now to pop in the mail in December.

And our Guest Designer Ginny Nemchak has her last post on Becca's blog and hers so be sure and stop over to see all the inspiration that she shared this month.  She did such an amazing job!!

Thank you for stopping and be sure and stop back for more ideas with these all month.

Hugs and Smiles....Teresa

Get ready for Christmas

Hi Everyone and happy Sunday to you all.  Today i have just a quick share that i did for Becca to be included in the packaging samples awhile back for the new Christmas dies that were just released.

This one is pretty near and dear to my heart because it's all the things a white Christmas should be.    Glittery trees filled with snow and golden bits of trims with reindeer and gorgeous vintage details.

To  get this look i just used 2 colors and did lots of layers to pop out the design in this Reindeer Prance die.  And to make it sparkle i covered it with superfine glitter and then popped it up so that it looks like you are looking outside of a window at the snow.  It would be such a pretty card to make to send to those very special friends and family that you want to do something  really special for.

This is what the die looks like and it comes with 3 pieces so that you can do your own back rounds or add it into the 3D Vignettes die that Becca designed to go with it.  Now that would be an amazing card.  I hope that you have a chance to pick this one up to create with this year and be sure and post your creation on the Spellbinders website so that we can see what you do.

Have a very Blessed Sunday.... and happy crafting to you!

Teresa

And don't forget to visit our Guest Designer this month Ginny Nemchak.  She has another gorgeous card made with Becca's new dies so it's so worth the hop over to see!!
