Basic Grey Sketch Challenge

There was another really cute sketch up this week
at the Basic Grey blog and with all the paper I have
stashed it was another good reason to get some photos
out and scrap! Yay.... I had to print my photos smaller for
this challenge but I like all the festive colors of the Jovial
line and it matches my decorations in my house too :)

Products used for this were:
Jovial element stickers, Merry Maker,
 Snowball Fight and rosemary papers.

I tweeked the title placement a little but it made the
red letters stand out more and I really like the way it came out.
Can't wait to do the rest of the pages for this....

Thanks again for a great
sketch this week and thanks for looking!

Card Club for October

Card Club this month is a little bit of everything
seeing that the Holidays are coming up soon...
We are creating boxes for gift cards and mini
albums and a few cards too.  Yay!!
This is my favorite and I can add it to
my purse collection of projects now.  I made
this using Spellbinders dies.  The papers
are new from Basic Grey and the embossed flower
on the front is from Sizzix.  Inside is a cute little
folded mini book filled with photos and cute sentiments
to give as a gift to someone you adore.
This stamp is by Inkadinkado and I stamped it 2 times,
once for the backround on a printed paper and then again
for the center sentiment to pop it up again.  The edges
are inked with chestnut roan and attached under the net
with a glue dot.  This too is a mini book box and has
a fun little book inside to give as a gift :)
These papers are also from Basic Greys new Picadilly line!

Here is a mini pizza box that you can make with
an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper and decorate.  I made
a slide for the class to do and cut out scalloped circle
in red and a printed circle and dotted it to look like
sewing with a fine red pen.
The cute little butterflies on this are punched with
an MS punch in coordinating prints. Paper by BG.

My last card to show you is made with some of the
New Bo Bunny Christmas.  I cut and embossed 2 scalloped
Octagons and then inked the top slightly  using the die
over it with Tim Holtz Inks and stamped the Merry Christmas
over it in Chestnut roan ink.  This is
a great technique if you have only white cardstock to use
and want it to not be quite so stark white.  And I added
a little glitz to the stars with diamond stickles.

Hope you like the new cards and I a few challenge
pages to post so I will have more in a couple of days!

Fun New Cards to share...

Hi Everyone... I had a nice couple of days off from
the shop and got lots of things done to share this
week with all the new stamps and papers that I had.
And I got lots done at the house too so it was just
that much better of a week!!  Yay :)

The front of this actually got started off as a card
but then I found this canvas book I had and ended
up making it a mini book for some of my favorite
family photos.  It was fun to spray and rough it up
a little and then go and add all the vintage pieces!!

I love these papers from MME and Love the colors!
I used a 6x6 mini pad as usual and my heart and circle
Spellbinders die for the backround.  I bought a couple of
leaf stamps a couple of weeks ago and tried it out for the
leaves and love the added texture it gave it.  The
gold pearls I made with my pearl pen and the flowers
are purchased.
I did this card for the store for some samples
I was making up and thought it came out really cute!
I don't normally use dark colors but it was a fun
challenge to try and create a night sky and of
course I had to add some diamond stickles to
make it glitter like the ribbons.

It has been a long time since I got out my Copics
so I did a few cards and played with my colors.
These papers are from American Crafts Christmas
line and the stamp is from Penny Black.

Here is my last card for the day and one of my
favorites.  I love the colors and the way the gold
glistens on the white embossed tree.  I was lucky
enough to meet Fran (the owner of Stampendous)
and learn this fun technique of embossing from the
back from her. You just sprinkle on the powder where you
want it on the front without any inks and just melt away from
the back.  Its really cool and works perfect!  Fun
tip if you didn't already know it.  I hope you like
all my things to day that I shared today....

Thanks for stoppin in and have
a wonderful fall day!!

It's Pumpkin Picking Time

October is my favorite month here in California
because the weather starts getting cooler and it's
time to go up to Riley's Farm and pick apples and
pumpkins again.  The weather was great on Sat.
only about 65 degrees when we left in the morning
and only in the 70's up there at Riley's.
They had lots of new pumpkins this year and gourds too
so we had to make 2 trips to the car to unload all the
things we got this time.  This one is new there and it
reminds me of the Cinderella's coach pumpkin. You
know I had to get this one too...  :)  My husband
said I should have bought the wagon... and he was
probably right but that would have been dangerous :)

There were so many people this time and it made
it really fun and festive.  Kids were making candles
and picking strawberries and eating lots of things
that were made with the yummy apples that they
sell there.  We picked a bag ourselves and then
got lots more to cook up some good things at home
this week.  I got some great recipes from my favorite
cooks (tarts, applesauce, pies) and am ready to go....

This restaurant is called Hawk's Head house and
serves yummy things from the colonial period here
in the US.  Everyone is dressed in period costume
and they have an amazing band that plays music
while you eat. It is just like stepping back in time about
200 years or so.... If you get a chance to go you should.
 It is really, really good!!

The farm had lots of different things to pick this time.
They had strawberries and raspberries, beans, apples,
pears and lots and lots of pumpkins too.  We
had such a wonderful day out there.

Thanks for stopping by and happy fall y'all!!

LOTV Challenge

Lily of the Valley Stamps in England is
having a fun challenge this week so I
thought I would make up a quick card
to enter and add to my collection.. Yay!

This is one of their digitals that is already
colored. (Saves lots of time when you need it)
Lots of times I add extra pencil or
copic to it to match the paper but this time
I had the perfect ones to match the image from
My Minds Eye.  The flowers are from
K and Co and EK and the leaves are
punched from an MS punch.

Here are 3 of my favorite cards I did and
thought I would share.  The top one I got in
the Basic Grey gallery and the birthday kitten
was made for a friends birthday.  All of
these are already colored but the top one I added
extra pencil to match the paper.

I hope you like them and be sure and leave a comment
and check out all the other entries on their blog here.

Kings Canyon Trip

I have tried for ages to get my husband to go to Sequoia
and see all the beautiful things there and finally this last
weekend we went on a quick trip and he loves it...
It is an amazing place filled with these huge, enormous
giant sequoia's and redwoods and the fact that they are
thousands of years old makes it that much more amazing.
Here is some of my favorite photos that I took-

I took this picture on an early morning
hike in Grants Grove and it caught
the light coming through the trees just perfect.
It was the most relaxing trip I have been
on in a long time.. it was so gorgeous there.

When you follow the road back to
the end of it to a place called Cedar Grove
there is this beautiful place along the cliffs
with a gorgeous stream running through
it.  I never new this place was there
and can't wait to go back again in the spring.

Thanks for stopping by to see my
new photos and now that my i photo
is back up and working I can post
some of the new things I just finished
for the store...
Hugs,  Teresa
