Tea Lights and Tea Parties

Happy Saturday and for all of you that work all week--- it's time to get out all those crafty supplies today and make something pretty for someone you love.  Today i have a fun share that i call Tea Lights and Tea Parties.  It's one of my favorite projects that i did so far on Becca's team and it would be wonderful to do for Mother's Day this year.  You could customize the whole party and make it in her favorite colors with lots of flowers and lace.  How fun would that be to do!!

Above i also created a place card and napkin holder to go with the tea lights.  I used a shaped Spellbinders die to make the place card base with the ivory and pink and then on top of it i added just the center of the Grand Dome 3D Card die set.  I also used it for the center of the napkin ring holder and added a pretty pink bow that i made from the Petite Double Bow die set.  The band of the napkin ring is made with just the bottom edge on the Ornamental Arch die set and i cut a band of pink to go underneath it to make the design really pop out like you can see peeking out of the napkin up above.

And below i have a quick tutorial on how to make the little tea lights for your tables.  It's super easy!

To make these you will need 2 sheets of 12X12 paper in ivory.  Die cut the arch 4X for the 4 sides.  Also die cut just the back arch out of vellum for each.   Glue the pieces on the the vellum and let them dry flat.  Also cut 4 pieces of ivory paper 3/4 of an inch wide and score them down the center with a ruler.
For the base cut a die cut that is bigger than 4 inches and create a box for the center of it with sides that are 3 3/4" wide and glue it down like you see on the right side of the picture above.

Now you fold the long pieces that you scored and glue them onto the corners of the tea light base.  Then add double stick tape to the inside of the arch on the bottom and sides and glue it to each side of the base.  Die cut pink bows for each of the sides and glue them together and let them dry.  When they are done you can glue them to the bottom of each tea light and add flowers.

This is such an inexpensive way to decorate for a holiday party and you can make them fancy or simple, it's totally up to you.  And you could give them away as hostess gifts.

Thank you so much for stopping by and i hope that you liked my project today!

Time for Tea and a blog hop too...

Hi and welcome to our first Craft Hoarders blog hop of the new year 2017... I hope that your holidays were really fun and you all got lots of time off to spend doing fun things with family and friends.  I spent lots of time at the castle this year which was really fun but did get a few moments to spend with my family to relax so it was a wonderful holiday for me.

If you started the hop in the beginning then you should have arrived from Bonnie's blog....

Today i have a few projects to share that i did for Ruby Rock-it's Faded Empire Collection.  This beautiful line was one of my favorites and i went a little crazy making up some things for a tea party and would also work great for Valentines. The paper line had lots of tags and other fun embellishments and gorgeous victorian papers to create cards, tags and boxes with.  All the fancy edges i have on them are from Spellbinders dies... i have so many of them it's really nice to be able and use them for lots of projects i have....but you can use punches to achieve some of the same ideas.

These projects are my favorites.  Not only for the pretty colors in the papers but also for the pretty princess diecuts that they have to go with the paper line.  It was really fun to do this.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to finish the hop by stopping over to
Barbara's blog... Each of us is giving a random prize so be sure and leave a comment for a chance to win.  Here is a photo of my prize from Ruby Rock-it!!  I will announce the winner on the 9th and it's only open to US residents :)

So it's time again to hop on over to Barbara's blog to see what she has to share!
