Go Green Challenge with Craft Hoarders...

Today we have an awesome challenge up just in time to create for St. Patricks day
just around the corner.  I have 2 parts of me from that beautiful Celtic island
so i dug deep into my stash and found some of my favorite papers
that i put away from Best Creation.

To make my book i started with a chipboard staggered book that i had and covered
the front and back with the bordered paper so that it would all match.  I had
the perfect sentiment to stick on it so that part was really easy.  Then i tied some
glittery green tulle on the side and layered a flower that i had and a flower that i
made in plaid to match and glued that on the bottom left.

Here is a shot from the top so that you can see all the layers in the book.
It's a great way to show off all those pretty papers in a book that you have
hoarded away through the years.  I just chalked my edges to give it more color.

Here is the inside and i used die cuts from the paper collection that i cut
out and added flowers with just a bit of bling to go with the glittery embossing
on the papers.  This set really had great papers to work with and it was
really fast and easy to make it.  The other Celtic die cut that i used is
from Spellbinders and I have used it alot of different ways.

Here is another view just simple and i have some fun pictures to put in
it of my grandmother who was from Ireland and my husbands Grandfathers
side who were from Cork.  Someday i hope to get there and will have more
photos to add to it I hope.  Ireland is such a beautiful place and i can't wait to go.

And lastly here is another page that i did.  I really took advantage of the borders
and pretty details on my paper and used the letters and tags just as accents.

And that's all from this little irish/german girl today and don't forget to make
something amazing and share it with us on the Craft Hoarders Blog too. And
be sure and check out all the other projects from all the girls on the team!!

Irish Blessings to you all and Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Craft Hoarders Challenge for Feb

Yep it's my favorite time of the month again with our shares from the
Craft Hoarders Design Team!  Our challenge this month was to create a
Valentine, anniversary, wedding or other love themed project so i thought about it
and realized I had the perfect heart box and papers that i have been hoarding
so this put me in high gear to finally do something with it.

It's nice that I had lots of things to use from the Craft Hoarders chart as you can see.
I used a chipboard heart box that i had gotten along time ago and first step was
to cover the top with papers from MME Lost and Found Record it collection.
I also had the chipboard pieces and the ephemera pieces so i layered those with 3D
foam dots on the top and mixed in some Want2Scrap chipboard hearts that i had too.
I am lovin the natural chipboard color so i kept some of it natural and then
chalked it with my favorite Tsukineko chalk ink in Gingerbread.

And here is a closeup of some of the goodies that i layered on the top.  I also
used the bling letters and added a bit more red stickles on the other things to
glitter them up a little to match.  And i put in a little bit of twine just because i love it.

To finish off the edge better i sound some pretty lacy pearls so i glued that on
with adhesive.  For my die cuts i used the Bitty Blossom leaf die and tucked
a bunch of them under all the Bo Bunny flowers that i used.  It was really
a fun project to make and doing Valentines it gave me the opportunity to
over do it and use lots of the goodies that i had.  I even made a little card
to go with it.  I am going to put little love notes in it and cookies for my DH
for Valentines so i think it will be fun.

Here is a list of the products i used:

Papers and goodies from My Minds Eye- Lost and Found Valentines Collection
Bling: Red Stickles
Ink: Tsukineko Chalk Ink in Gingerbread
Spray Mist: Tsukineko Shimmer Spray in Gold
Lace and Tulle: in my stash
Twine: Natural twine from May Arts
Die Cuts: Spellbinders and Want2Scrap
Distressing on the edges
Chipboard Heart Box and Scalloped hearts
Flowers: Bo Bunny and Prima
Scotch Quick dry Adhesive to hold it all together
with 3D Foam dots by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Yep that sounds like i got everything and be sure and go check out all
the amazing things the rest of our team did on the blog here.

Don't forget to leave a comment so i know that you stopped by and i
can come and visit you too.  Have a wonderful day!!

My first Craft Hoarders Anonymous post

Well today is a really great day because it's my first post on the
Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog.  This is the perfect team for me since
i am just a bit of a hoarder and now i can use up some of the things in
my stash to give as gifts.  It's going to be a really fun year!!

Since we just had Christmas i am sharing a book that i did for my sister
to put all the cute photos of her cats in.  She had an amazing big white persian
cat named Mabel and sadly she passed away recently and it was the perfect
papers from Graphic 45 to use.  The line is called Raining Cats and Dogs and
it's absolutely adorable.   The line comes with lots of flowers and
tags and other fun goodies so it was easy to check off lots of things from
my list of things i needed to use to make this project for her....

The flowers i made with the punch out's that come in the set.  I love the
bright prints and the check ribbon from RRR went great with it.  You can
also see here how i cut and staggered the bottom edges of the book.  The
papers are so pretty i wanted to show them off on each page before i turned
them to see the next photo on it.  And it comes with these way too cute
chipboard pieces,  buttons, tags and all kinds of goodies to decorate with.

Here and below i am sharing each of the pages that i did.
Each of them has lots of cute things on it and lots of ribbon
and buttons and brads.  It was really fun to do and my sister
really liked it.

The pictures of the cats on this are just way too cute!

Thank for stopping over to see my book and be sure and enter the
challenge yourself and see what you can dig out of your stash to make
something for someone really special!!  Have a wonderful day :)

A peek into my scraproom

So today i am sharing a few photos of my Scrap space via my new design
team Craft Hoarders Anonymous... I am actually going to move most of
it out to the garage to have a big table for sewing and painting new week
but this is where i create everything that i do right now.  It's messy and i
have collected way to much but that is half the fun right :)

So how on earth did i amass such a huge amount of things you ask?
Well i was lucky enough to work at a Scrapbook store for 12 years and
i taught ALOT and went to the CHA shows and well --you get the idea.  It's
pretty much my life and i love that i get to enjoy creating things each
and every day for my design teams and for classes. This is my desk where
i stamp and color.  I have a really great view from my window here :)

My favorite buy was the IKEA drawers that have all my favorite
things in them close at hand and organized.  I am still looking for
a neat way to do my Spellbinders dies so hopefully I will find something
when i move all this to the other room soon. Other things like my
ribbons for Really Reasonable Ribbon i store in boxes under my desk,
along with paper and other goodies like bling and mini books to do.

My son always tells me that junk expands to fill the space so
you can see that it's time i move to a bigger space.  Inside
my cabinets are all my favorite things i have made and painted
through the years.  I use to be a decorative painter before i got
into scrapbooking so i have lots of things i saved one of to remember
all the fun my partner Shelley and i had all those years selling.
Oh and i sew too ( i had dreams to be a costume designer) so some
are the dolls i made... it was great when my daughter was small and all
the girls loved them.  So that is it for today but i will share my space
again when i move and with all the neat things i found on pinterest
it's going to be really nice i think.  Thanks for stopping over and visiting
and be sure and check out our challenge next month in Jan.

Have a great day everyone.....
